Okay maybe that's a little extreme. And I still feel a little funny about spending that much on a pair of sunglasses.. but I tried on a lot of different Ray Bans (before going online) and these were the ones. These fit my face the best, had a nice feel in general, and offered the tortoise shell frames coupled with the light brown lenses.
There's something nice about the glass lenses too, they feel solid and "real" and the clarity seems remarkable. They scratch less easily too. Only problem with the glass lenses is that they are heavier and when I have them on top of my head and I bend over they slide off. In fact, they slide off a little more easily in general because of their weight, I didn't have this issue with plastic lenses. But there are trade offs to everything. Anyway, I'm happy that I treated myself to these.
